Small Groups

We consider Small Groups (or Growth Groups) to be a vital part of individual spiritual growth and the development of real community and strongly encourage every member of DCC to be a part of one.

If you are interested in joining a group, the best first step is to complete a (click here) Small Group/Growth Group Interest Survey.

Our goals for each Growth Group include:

  • to study the Bible and make application
  • to have a defined roster so that people are known and missed when they are gone
  • to care for people in the group and reach out to others
  • to pray for one another and grow together spiritually
  • to provide accountability, friendship and support

These groups are formed and get together on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of interested people with approval by and accountability to the Leadership Team and Elders. Small Groups are formed based on curriculum or affinity or geography.

Here are a few more comments that describe how our groups work:

  • People rely on the members of their Growth Group to help them see the blind spots that exist in all our lives.
  • They are built on relationships of mutual, voluntary submission between believers.
  • Growth Group members have someone to call when they need prayer or a casserole or someone to help move a piano (or hopefully something lighter than that!)
  • The members are accountable to each other. They speak truths that are sometimes difficult to hear.
  • Growth Groups look forward to getting together.
