


John Pitt, senior pastor of Dunwoody Community Church, is a native of Michigan. He attended Carmen Senior High School in Flint and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Arts from Michigan State University. He later received his Th.M. degree in Pastoral Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Colorado University.
John was active in Campus Crusade for Christ both during and after college. He has served in three pastor positions: Pastor of Outreach and Discipleship at Calvary Church in Souderton, PA; Senior Pastor at Tri-State Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in Hagerstown, MD; and, from 1996 to 1998, as Senior Pastor of Dunwoody Community Church. After DCC, he became an account executive responsible for National Account Sales at Reed Business Information in Norcross.
With a heart for service, John has volunteered his time with organizations in Clarkston GA working with refugees, The Storehouse of World Vision, FCS Urban Ministry and its Family Store, and Habitat for Humanity. His wife, Pam, works for SIS – She Is Safe – and they are actively involved in fighting the sex slave trade in Nepal and Atlanta.
John’s family also includes John D. III and his wife, Briana, and their new son John Beckman Pitt; Anne Pitt and son Jackson; Clare Pitt, James Pitt, Katie Monroe, Travis and Bethany Owen, and Graham Monroe.
